Those words seem to be thrown around too easily. I recently feel that society has lost the true meaning of love and what it entails. What does it mean to you? Sometimes we forget the distinction between loving and being in love. I hear people say "I love you" to their partners in public, after say, dating for two weeks and I think... is that really what you mean? or do you just care about them? Personally I believe that people should consider this more. Don't say it just to comfort someone or 'return the favour' as they say. Mean it.
"In English,
love refers to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging
from pleasure ("I loved that meal") to interpersonal attraction
("I love my partner"). "Love" may refer specifically to the
passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love, to the sexual love of eros, to the emotional
closeness of familial love, to the platonic love that defines friendship, or to
the profound oneness or devotion of religious love, or to a concept of love
that encompasses all of those feelings. This diversity of uses and meanings,
combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually
difficult to consistently define, compared to other emotional states."
To me, love is supposed to be a pure and raw feeling. Something so special that requires time and maturity to develop. Yes, there are many different ways of loving someone -the bond of family and friends. But of course there is the love between two people; connecting with someone on another level, a happiness that knows no bounds. That, to me, is a rare occurrence in life.
So that's what I wanted to say today. It's been sitting on my mind for a while and I promise I'll update sooner rather than later. I have much more to say so I'll definitely be back soon :)

I totally agree with what you mean but don't you find it ironic how people who often say they love someone too easily often don't mean it and people who can't say it as much, understand the true meaning of "love"? It's strange how we attempt to deconstruct language - turn meaning over its head (I mean, I do it all the time) but just reading your post brings something to mind. Is it futile to do this because technically we're contradicting ourselves? I mean, language has no fixed meaning just because the words we use mean different things to us and also because language evolves over time like gay used to mean happy and now gay means homosexual. So if we point out how society has misinterpreted the meaning of a word, does it also mean that we have? Anyway, I won't go too deep into this because I get the feeling that we might end up on an absurd note where we basically say that language has no meaning and that words cannot be defined (which I believe is true in some senses but not others?). WOw... that was confusing. Anyway, love you lots and I look forward to your next update!! xxx
